Yesterday was the big kickoff for this year's Electronics Entertainment Expo, the video-game-palooza netter known as E3. And by "big kickoff" I really mean started... just started.

I am a big believer in the power of individuals. We, as in people in general, tend to whine about a lot of things. Go to virtually any forum or comment section on any subject on any website, you'll find a bunch of people complaining about something. I'm sure some people reading this will take it as me complaining about people complaining. I think people in general are predisposed to taking on an identity of a victim. We tend to look at anything that goes wrong or that we don't like as some sort of affront to us personally, rather than a confluence of circumstance that it usually is. We see conspiracies against us rather than simple matters of our own will falling against someone else's. Sometimes your bottle of soda missing from the fridge at work is just somebody's mistake, not a conspiracy by your co-workers torment you. But this isn't always a bad thing. As predicted, the Xbox One came in above the price of the PS4. Right now there are a few games that seem to have potential. Titanfall, an Xbox exclusive, looks to be very similar to the COD franchise, but it does have a few things that set it apart, namely the Titans, the large robot armors. obviously the first thing most people in the US will think of is Transformers, while Japanese audiences will think of Gundam. The concept is much closer to Gundam, but neither iterations of games in those worlds have involved a pilot being able to freely enter and exit their robot. So, it should be something interesting to see how the final product of the game turns out. They teased a new Star Wars Battlefront, but had no details, so there's not much to say about it other than the obvious, which is that it's an easy leading title. Year in and year out there are a few dates that you tend to mark on the calendar. The obvious ones are holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries. Then there's tax day, just because you can't escape it. If you've got kids, or are a student yourself, you also mark off the start/end dates of school, and school holidays. Working down the list you then get to sports - start/end of regular season, playoffs, games you might attend, etc. For gamers and those interested in the gaming industry, June means one thing - E3. It is THE big event of the gaming industry each year.
