Rememberance

As has been sorrowfully but informatively been pointed out by several news outlets over the past 24 hours, the frequency of events such as this has been all too high in the last half decade. The history of mass shootings in the United States only dates back roughly 55 years, yet half of the ten deadliest have occurred in only the last five or six, three within just the last two. There will be time to analyze the reasons for the trend in the coming days once more is known about the suspect and hopefully about their motive. For now, however, all we can do is mourn those who have suffered the ultimate price in this latest bout of extreme violence and pray for the swift recovery of those who survived.

I send my thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families of the shootings at the Naval yard in Washington, D.C on Monday, September 16, 2013.
