A Very Happy Hallow's Eve

To paraphrase an old quote, Halloween is the one day of the year where we all get to dress and and for that one day pretend we're someone we're not. Actually, the quote is from "It's A Wonderful Life" and was talking about people being nicer to others for Christmas, but I think my version works too. Except if you're a cosplayer... or you spend a lot of time in Las Vegas or Akihabara.
Either way, you don't usually think about Halloween without thinking about dressing up and candy. And since I can't share candy through the web, I can share pictures of others dressing up.

No, I won't be sharing pictures of anyone I know, so forget it. Anime costume pics are the order of the day. Up today are a couple I've done. Okay, so it's not the first time I've shared my artwork, but these two are a lot closer to actual cosplay pictures than my previous ones.

First up we have the pink and blue magical girl, dressing up as the Golden Witch. Pretty straight forward, we have here Anzushiro (Dark Magician Girl) giving up her miniskirt and magician's hat for Beatrice's signature grand gown. The only substantive change is that I replaced the lining of the One-Winged Eagle of the Ushiromiyas for the roses that symbolize the Rosencraft. And the magical flame in her palm is just for a little demonstration of her power. The ruffles weren't as tough as I first expected, the tough part was the rose print on the dress. All of them were drawn straight from imagination.

Next up is "Kurokami Nero". Will be adding this one to my story after having completed it (though I'm planning a sorta "meta" role). This one is also very straightforward. Kurokami Medaka of Medaka Box will be going as Saber Bride for Halloween this year. I think their personalities actually match up to a decent degree, so much so that I'm a little surprised I haven't seen this pairing on the web before. Oh well. This one was a little more difficult than the Anzu-Beatrice one above thanks to those zippers and belts. I've probably messed up somewhat on the chain around the collar though, as well as the frill around the wrist.

Well then, that's all for Halloween from me today. You can see the Anzu-Beatrice image on Deviantart here and the Kurokami Nero image here

Enjoy the holiday. Get lots of candy, just don't eat it all at once. Oh, and listen to this song once or twice and this one at least as many times as the first. The second is not really scary, but a good Halloween song nonetheless. Later.
