Anastasia Kurae

Getting this one out a little early. Well, I managed to get most of the kinks worked out, but I still need a little more time to get the production done on the full image I was planning to spoil. So, a change in plans for this week from what I originally had in mind.

First, some housekeeping. As you know next week is Turkey day, Thanksgiving. I will be taking that week off from my blog. I'll pop in on the big day to say hi, but that's about it. 

Second, as you saw ahead of the jump, I did solve some of the bigger and more immediate computer problems I've been having, so for now I'm back up and running. Unfortunately between that and work, the time I needed to complete edits ran out. So the image reveal I had in mind ahead of the release of the Second Star Saga was cut much shorter than I needed. As a result I've had to break up the project a little.

All of that means that I will be doing a phased release. I'll introduce my main characters today and tomorrow, then I'll do another segment on the broader story, revealing a little about the inspiration behind the general story and the anime/manga that helped me form the story. That will lead (hopefully) to the completed image on Friday when I will be posting the story on FanFiction.

But today calls for a character introduction, and that is Anastasia;

Her real name is Ayane Anastasia Kirijou, Anastasia Kurae an alias she used to run away from home several years ago. Kurae has a rather dominating personality, which makes it hard for others to get along with her, but she is also very popular. She lives a somewhat hectic and complex life, but doesn’t usually let it show. This leads to her being misjudged and burdened more than she probably needs to be.

Anastasia hardly remembers her parents at all. Her mother had died from a heart attack when Anastasia was only about four or five years old. Her father was killed in an accident a couple years later. She was taken in by her aunt and uncle, but they treated her very poorly, her uncle using her in his company’s experiments. As a result, Anastasia has had a highly independent nature for much of her life. She can be quite stubborn at times and her face is always marked with a serious expression. Most who see her think she is always serious or in a persistently foul mood. Furthermore she tends to be very impatient at times, leading to it seeming that she has a very domineering streak. She likes to be in charge so that she can be confident things are done the way she wants or expects. However, all of this masks the fact that she also has a very soft side to her and often times would prefer if she could find someone else whom she can place her trust and faith in. She likes to help people and enjoys being of service, leading to her sometimes taking on more responsibility than she should probably be taking on. She does have friends whom she considers herself relatively close to, but none more so than Serina Arenzai.

When she was about fourteen, Anastasia ran away from home to escape the torturous experiments. While many think Anastasia is rich, she is actually not much better off financially than anyone else. She only has what money she could steal away from what was supposed to be a fund her parents left to her. It is such that she had to take a part-time job to make sure she had enough money for her future. Despite working a part-time job, she is also a member of the student council, a guest editor for the school paper, and the sub-captain of the archery club. In archery she is one of the best in all of Japan, though hasn’t been able to take that title officially due to having to skip the national tournament two years in a row. 

The Second Star Saga, Old Empire Saga, will in part be told through her experiences as the world is caught up in the unrest in Mother Russia.
