Growing Shadows

So, in case you missed it, there's new stories to be read.
I was in a time-pinch, as I suspected might be the case, yesterday morning. So, while I did get the promised chapters up fro reading, I didn't even leave enough time to properly write a post here on my blog to confirm the release.

Book of Cromwell chapter 3 is HERE.

Third Moon Book I us HERE.

So, to recap, first we have Chapter 3 for the Book of Cromwell. In chapter 3 Yugi and Drusilla visit the home of the princess, Lilianne, who goes by the name Hime. While there, they end up in the middle of a plot on Hime's life.

This story is based on a chapter out of the Princess Resurrection manga and anime. I adjusted the setting and some of the events, particularly how it ends, to suit my story. The tad bit of comedic tone is in keeping with the light-hearted horror that Princess Resurrection employed. Hopefully I did a passable job of conveying that.

If you notice, when you list crossovers on FanFiction.net you can only pick two, and have to choose at least one character from each. For that reason I listed Yu-Gi-Oh as the first story and Princess Resurrection as the second story in the crossover. However, little of the Yu-Gi-Oh story (actually none so far as my plans have gone) appears in the Book of Cromwell aside from Yugi as an adapted character. That basically applies to Princess Resurrection as well. Hime and the rest appear in this one chapter, the vampire Reiri has a small role in a couple upcoming chapters, and Hime I plan on having make another minor appearance later on down the road too. Because they appear most often with in the Book of Cromwell, they managed second billing.

So why not Drusilla? Well, as you now know, Drusilla is based on an original character with my own original personality attached to her. While I do gain some inspiration from Arachne of Soul Eater, I can't attest to that similarity deliberately being particularly close to Arachne on my part. It rises above mere coincidence, but it's not at the level of, say, Yugi, or even further, Hime in this chapter.

Moving on, I released the new series, Third Moon Saga.

As I noted yesterday, this story was born out of a simple desire for a story featuring Inori/Mana of the Guilty Crown anime. Additionally it was coming off of my tinkering with a couple other stories that had some very dark tones to them. I haven't shared those two yet because I haven't finished enough work on them to have a share. But each of them has a very "bad" ending on their horizon. The other two manage a little more brutality on the way there, but this one, Third Moon, definitely has that edge to it. Unlike those, however, I don't know that I bounce off that bottom as much. But, alas, it's a long way from here to there.

The story really doesn't start moving yet in these first couple chapters. Mainly I'm getting you introduced to the male lead, his personality, his way of thinking, and the setup for his activities here on out. I know chapter 2 ends with what seems like a major and sudden advancement of the plot, but trust me, there's a lot more to come.

Again, I note the listed titles in the Crossover. The Guilty Crown tag is obvious, given Inori is my MC. Alexander isn't based on anyone specifically, so there's nothing going there. Dr. Nanjo is a slight nod to Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. I could've gone with BlazBlue on account of Kazma, and others who make minor appearances. However, I went with Kurumu and Rosario+Vampire because of the way in which R+V molds the overall story of Third Moon, at least through this first of three major story arcs, and that Kurumu herself remains a consistent character.

I hope you Halloween was enjoyable, and that you can say the same of reading my newest stories.

Don't worry, I didn't forget the art project. Like I said, time crunch got in the way. Si, it'll turn into a post Halloween project. Nice thing about Halloween falling on a Friday is that the whole weekend becomes like one long Halloween party, so it's all good, right? I'll hopefully have the piece up a little later today.
