Character Intro - Yugi and Tea

I got a heads up that I left off a character yesterday when I planned out the intro run this week. Left off Tea when I was copying my notes to the blog. At any rate, it was my intent, and as I will deliver now, for Tea to be introduced alongside Yugi. So, here we go...
Yugi Asakura is the young successor of the Rosencraft lineage. Upon that point at which Yami leaves the Shadow Realm throne, Yugi will succeed him. As such Yugi is imbued with great power physically and politically.

When Yugi was only about six or seven years old he and his parents were in a car crash. His parents died in the incident, but Yugi emerged with only a few minor scrapes. He was taken in by his grandfather at that point. Yugi didn't know his grandmother very well, having only faded memories of her. She disappeared months before Yugi's parents died.

Living with his grandfather, Yugi was introduced to the world of Shadow Duel, his father owning a game shop and becoming one of the first shops to fully carry and support the products of the game when Serenity Dantes' company first got going. Through this, Yugi has become a world-class duelist. Moving in with his grandfather is also when Yugi first met Tea.

Tea Hawkins is only about a month older than Yugi. She is not particularly studious, but is rather tech savvy and does try very hard. Her parents were relatively active in the community, her father being a local civil servant.

When Yugi moved in with his grandfather, Tea was the closest person around his age he could play with. Yugi's grandfather and Tea's family were relatively well acquainted. Helping Yugi get accustomed to the area was her duty. Ever since then, the two have almost always been seen together. Many since assumed that the two would grow up as a couple and one day marry.

Tea got into Shadow Duel through Yugi. She is similarly skilled to him, but generally refrains from engaging in tournaments and the like, even more so than Yugi. She is a generally very positive person, almost always willing to go a little further or try a little harder for her friends and loved ones. She tends, however, to be less altruistic than Yugi, often concerned his altruism goes too far.

Tea's personality undergoes the more dramatic change following the arrival of the Rosencraft. She emerges from her perceived shell more, and interestingly becomes more aggressive and less tolerant, for reasons not yet entirely clear.

Tea's powers are quite substantial. Arguably she is even more powerful than Yugi. She doesn't yet have a firm grasp on her powers and abilities, but is always anxious to learn more. The instability of her powers within her make it difficult for her to solidify that grasp, and at times has allowed her Lucifer Hawk powers to overwhelm her sanity.

That's it for today. Tomorrow is Runa and Kenshin.
Today's soundtrack is anime radio. This is today's sample track.
