Opening the Second Book

It's about time that I foll this out... I'll just make a few comments about it, a dew spoilers, and that's that. Book II goes online 1:00 PM EST.
The first chapter of Book II of the Book of the Shadows, First Moon Saga, will be posted at around one this afternoon. You may notice that the chapter numbering will start where the last book left off, so this book starts with Ch. 14. Don't worry, there aren't any chapters are missing. I do this for continuity purposes - reflection of the continuation of one book to the next, and all of my books follow this rubric.

In general Book II is a lot better than Book I, in my opinion. The story really starts to move forward from here, and in general it has a nice flow. My writing style improved by the time I wrote Book II and I had a better idea of where I wanted the story to start moving as opposed to the somewhat haphazard method I started Book I with.

I develop a slightly better picture of Nemesis with this book, which is important for almost everything going forward. But, to be honest, I don't develop it as well as I should have. I still have some time to, but it certainly won't be for several more books. There is something of a spin-off that was meant at one point to comprise parts of Book II and III, but I didn't have room in those books to fit it in. It's a few chapters about the history of Nemesis prior to the beginning of Book I. I'll probably share those in the not too distant future since it doesn't really spoil anything. They were written some time ago, and at that point I was well into Book VI, so I will have to review it appropriately.

Book II really was fun for me, and it has a few nice surprises. It sets the tone for everything else to come. As I've said in previous posts, my intent is to release at least one new chapter each week, but I would prefer that starting next week I do two. They will all be uploaded at about 1:00 PM EST each Friday.

I hope you will continue to read this amateur's tales. As per usual, check the Book of the Shadows page here on my blog for a link to all the uploaded stories. I also hope that I can share news about my site in the near future as well.

Yesterday was Christmas in July, which is pretty much meaningless to most people, but is still a day you can have some fun with if that's your goal. I left off my daily soundtrack from yesterday's post, but it was mostly "oldies" and Christmas music mixed in. Here's a sample track for that.

Today I've been listening mainly to the local Hip-Hp and R&B station. Love this song!
