New Drusilla Artwork
This, my friends, is a teaser.
I started this particular project a little more than a month and a half ago. I started thinking of doing it as a Christmas in July themed piece. But, other things, mainly work, sidetracked me from getting enough time in to get it done. Ever since I've been doing a little at a time, trying to get it ready. I'm still not quite there, but I figured I would show off a bit of a teaser.
Well, as you can see, it's a pretty big teaser. Image size wise, and detail wise. Of the characters I draw, Anzu is the easiest for me. I can sketch an image of her pretty much on the fly without having to sit and remember details or look to reference images. Rini is probably second on that list. I used to draw pictures of her before I even started the Book of the Shadows series, though I still get a little messed up on her hair and getting it to look quite right.
Drusilla is very close behind Anzu and Rini. Despite the age of Drusilla as a character I work with in my stories, She didn't have a fully settled image until I incorporated Arachne. Even then, I didn't start doing artwork of Drusilla until about three years ago. But she quickly became one of the easiest characters for me to draw, and one of my favorites. As a result, whenever I have time to draw and I'm thinking about what to draw, I often end up wanting to do a new piece featuring her.
I really like her face and the facial expressions I can attach to her. I really want to spend a little more time bringing more life to her eyes, however; adding detail to the shape of the iris and pupil, as well as light detail. It's also great fun to dress her up differently and try different hairstyles with her.
At any rate, enjoy this teaser for now. I'll hopefully have her piece done soon.
Until next time, enjoy life.
