Cliffs Notes

I was on ANN the other day and I was reading the comments on the site’s top seven list of the most frustrating cliffhangers in anime . I recall getting into that discussion many times over my anime viewing history. I’ll rehash that discussion now.

The Death of Anime Will Not Be Televised

The director behind one of my favorite series of the last decade, Gundam SEED, has stirred up discussion with his comments on the anime industry, specifically stating regulation and censorship has hamstrung the industry. You can see the Anime News Network article about it here . Is he right? Is there even a problem?

Coming Attractions

First, I have an addition to make to one of the other pages, and then I'll get into some stuff that will be coming up soon.

April Fool's Day

Few days are as both entertaining and potentially infuriating as April the 1st. I'll be looking at the fun part.

For The Sake of a Good Story

I said I'd be back on the 25th. Well, work called and I'm needed. So, I do have a post for your today, but I'll be radio silent for another week after this. I don’t usually direct quote users on other sites, etc. But I think this poster hits a critical point. Scroll down to the post by Kaioshin_Sama at this link . It should be near the bottom. Pay particular attention to their second paragraph.

The Battousai Lives!... Not Really...

If you aren’t familiar with the Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) franchise, you likely have no idea what I’m talking about and this post will mean little to you. But, if you know of, or are a fan of, the franchise, or just find life imitating art to be weird and cool, you’ll be really interested in this.

Akame ga Kill and the Third Moon Saga

One of the greatest announcements to descend in the anime and manga world thus far this year, as far as I’m concerned, is that the Akame ga Kill manga will be getting an anime .

I saw an article on Crunchyroll on Sunday. It talks about the fact that in judging the quality of anime and the anime industry, that a lot of people lack perspective and as a result there is the widespread derision of the industry as being on the decline in terms of quality.

Funny ads again...

As I've mentioned before, I like to look at odd, funny, interesting commercials and adds. I saw the story about this one on Anime News Network yesterday. I don't know how big Pizza Hut is in Japan, but at the very least they certainly sponsor a good deal of anime. Perhaps the most apparent and consistent sponsorship was with Code Geass a few years back, where the female lead, C.C., constantly used the credit card of the male lead, Lelouch, to buy pizza. She also had the nickname pizza girl in the series in part for her risking discovery by the enemy all so she could get a slice of an attempted record setting giant pizza. Her iconic large yellow plushie was an item she received for being a frequent Pizza Hut customer. The U.S audiences weren't "treated" to the specific ad placements when the show made its way state side, but it's relatively easy to spot if you're looking for it. New anime this season, Attack on Titan, is not the same situation. Don...
