April Fool's Day
Few days are as both entertaining and potentially infuriating as April the 1st. I'll be looking at the fun part.
April Fool's day is one of those holidays that isn't really a holiday. You don't get the day off, there's no figure that's celebrated, you don't give or get gifts, or spend time together with family or friends. It is a strange day on the calendar whose entire purpose is, ostensibly, to have fun, but can often get so twisted in that pursuit that people go overboard.
But, as I said, I'll try to focus on the actual good-nature, fun, ones. For that, the first one to hit the mark come from Google. Check this article from ANN about it.
It's a creative little treat from Google out in Japan. Android and iOS mobile users of Google Maps can try their hands at being "real world" Pokemon Masters by searching out various locations around the globe and catching each of the 150 Pokemon.made available through this. Part of the challenge is in finding where the Pokemon are. But, if that's too much of a headache, you can search out the list of Pokemon and locations.
Is it terribly funny? No, but it is fun, all without anyone getting hurt. Have a fun-filled April Fool's Day everyone.
