The Book of the Shadows

Hey everyone. Chapter 2 of the First Sun Saga will be up at about noon EST today, so I thought I'd do a bit of a synopsis of the important characters that appear in First Sun's first couple chapters.

First Sun Saga launches today at noon EST on fanfiction.net. I hope folks go and check it out. To help make sense of it, I'll give some details on the setting.

The World of C is an alternate world, a sort of parallel dimension to the Earth that is at the outset of the First Sun Saga. If you’re more familiar with the relationship between the “world” and the Shadow Realm in First Moon, then you can somewhat think of it as being the same sort of thing here.

The First Sun Saga, particularly at its outset, has a lot of stuff going on. Some of it is definitely more meta fan-fiction based than others. But at the heart, it's all about my original goal - merging the worlds of various interesting anime/manga/games I've experienced.

Well, chapter one of the Book of Cromwell has been up for a weekend now. A few people have checked it out already (Thanks, hope you've enjoyed). I am sure there are bits that don't make a lot of sense, so I'm here to clear away the confusion a bit.

I've made some decisions. Things start later this week.

It's time for a little bit of light housekeeping. Nothing major, just discussing a new feature I'll be rolling out soon.

First Sun Saga also had some good work this year in fleshing out the broader story. I terms of completed chapters it is in the same place as Third Moon. In terms of development of story ideas it is probably a little further ahead most simply because I at least know which of the Two-Six will appear and when. However, it has seen far less in terms of actual composition of story fragments, and I do not yet know how First Sun will end. It has become a fairly large story but it will be hard to figure out just how to wrap it all up. Third Moon by comparison has far fewer characters to worry about over the course of its story, and the options for an ending are much more limited given the events that are to play out.

Greetings to everyone, and welcome to State of the Realm 2013. I am grateful for everyone who is reading this address. This is the first new address I’ve furnished which has been released firstly via a method other than face-to-face discussion, or delayed reading by a typed document. I will get into that more in a moment.

There aren’t very many characters in my Book of the Shadows fiction that aren’t at least attempts at being loosely based on characters from another anime or manga. Every major character in the First Moon Saga is, even Kali/Drusilla (although that sort came about in a backwards way). Honoka Warashi is the first major character who is designed entirely by me.
