Eve of Change
Couple quick notes today and I'll be on my way.
Yesterday was Veteran's Day here in the states. My sister spent some time in the military years ago, and her husband is still in the Marines. So, for them, the millions of Vets still with us today, and the many who care no longer with us, thank you for your bravery, courage, and sacrifice.
Second order of business, I am making it official. After missing I think four of the last five now, I will not be posting to my blog on Mondays anymore. Stuff I did on Sunday, things I need to do on Mondays... Mondays and me accomplishing extracurricular activities (so-to-speak) don't play off the same song sheet. Thus, my blog activities will be limited to only Tuesday thru Friday.
Third order of business; last week I posted this wonderful image;
I challenged anyone to produce the answer to the question of who C.C was cosplaying as. Having not received the right answer, I reveal that it is Lilith/Eve from the game and anime, Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito.
Little background, as part of my Book of the Shadows story, C.C is among the Two-Six; the group associated with Anzushiro I've talked about before. As a member of the Two-Six she goes by the name Eve. Part of her personal story sets her as having a somewhat clingy sister whom she often is separated from. That is actually a basic factor of the Yami to Boushi story and the dynamic between Lilith and Eve (and Eve/Hatsumi and Hatsuki), though the reasoning for this dynamic differs in my take on the story.
Nevertheless, C.C is cast as Eve in my broader story, and my Eve is based in part on the story of the Eve in Yami to Boushi. Thus, I have my Eve wearing the same clothes as that Eve, which is the same as Lilith. Seems simple enough, right?
As for the image I drew, that was mostly straightforward as I mentioned in the original post for the image. I kept the white blouse, the skirt, and the corset. She has the same stockings as Lilith, but I replaced the buckle shoes with C.C's boots from her Black Knights uniform.
You can make out the very bottom of the infamous oversized hat of Lilith in the top left corner. I deliberately kept it from being entirely in frame because I'm working of adding this to a larger portrait. You can see one of the tails of the hat as well, holding up a lantern as is sometimes the case in some other official artwork for the Yami to Boushi series. In those images, the top of the lantern has a single crescent moon that hooks the ring the tail is grabbing. I replaced that with three stars forming a hook. I also replaced the riding crop Lilith always carries with another infamous witch's favored accessory (come to think of it, witches really like pipes, don't they?).
In case you're curious, I didn't plan any surprises in terms of colors. The elements of her outfit borrowed from Lilith with match Lilith's, and will retain C.C's hair and eye color, though if there is any change it would likely be to change her eyes to red.
Alright, that's that. Hope you enjoyed the project. See you tomorrow.
